Up and Running

Finally.We are here in the new place and snug as bugs in rugs.The cat has stopped having hysterics, the floors are level, the rooms have big non-draughty windows and it is QUIET!! I heard a car go by one afternoon and remarked on it."I think I heard a car go by." That's how quiet it is. When the post comes rattling through the door of an afternoon I startle.
There are lots of cupboards though one seems to have leprosy but that can be fixed. We seem to have been here forever and it has just been a week. It's Christmas in a few days so we are gearing up in a very mild way.There is a restaurant at the Bluffs that has Christmas Dinner so we are going to try it.Dinner was going to be cooked by He Who Cooks Once a Year but there was a singular lack of enthusiasm for the project. Christmas Dinner should be enjoyable for all.
Shortly we are off to St. Lawrence Market, a mere 30 minutes away to get the necessaries for the Christmas Eve supper, then on to Chinatown East to finish the last of the shopping. I couldn't be more thrilled! It takes 30 years of living in the Boonies to make one appreciate what one had before one left for the Boonies.
