We are moving in ten days time and the madness is upon us.There are boxes everywhere. Most are filled, some are empty. We have given bags and boxes of stuff away and even more has been thrown out and there is still a mountain of stuff that sits there. Packed. Another mountain awaits packing. My feeling is that once the lights are out the boxes start to multiply. Like rabbits. In the dark. Horrifying thought and possibly true. All I know is that our home is in a state of confusion and I am cooking with two pots and two frying pans. That I don't mind as I always enjoy a good challenge. It's the labyrinth of boxes and bags that have taken over the dining room that gets me down. That and climbing around the massive table that has come to live in the sitting room.
However we are nothing if not resourceful and certainly experienced in these trying matters. I keep the kitchen clean and organized as that is my main area of operations. Moving takes the pluck out of one and I have taken it upon myself to keep us well nourished through our ordeal. The next is making sure the bedrooms are light and airy and an oasis of peace in the midst of the madness. Lavender essential oil on a warm light bulb sends instant calm through a room. Try it!
I could if I wasn't so nuts at the moment sit down and write "Moving For Dummies" if someone hasn't already got there before me.
This too shall pass. All things do. Patience is an acquired virtue. I am trying to acquire it.

It's packing the paintings that gets me. I feel like Hercules with the Hydra - pack one and two more appear. I'll be glad when it's all over. Unpacking will be a breeze.
I detect a slight passive aggressive note in that comment. One can always go elsewhere and hire help to move the works of art.Had no idea I was harbouring a Philistine!
